Roundup of Popular Coupon Policies

Here are some popular stores' coupon policies. These are important to have, because not all employees are correctly trained on which coupons their stores accept.

Are there other stores you would like to see a coupon policy for?

*I was going to get more crackers, but that was the last of them until they get their truck on Tuesday, so hopefully I can get more then. Otherwise, I have a rain check (including the ECB part) so I can get them next week. They also extended my $5/$25 coupon that expired today (came in my e-mail last week), for a month! so I can use that to finish out my cracker deal also. Or, I may just pick up some soda or Vitamin waters, which are also part of the deal. I haven't decided yet. I love how friendly the cashiers are, and how coupon friendly the store is!

Have you signed up for RecycleBank yet? You really should. You can earn points to redeem for high value coupons. One of the easiest ways to earn points is to go to the "Earn Points" tab at the top, and scroll down through your options. I just got 50 points for the "Saw Us on TV?" post, just for clicking the button. There are also short multiple choice quizzes on products like Naked Juice and Coors.
In some areas, you can also earn points for your recycling - they will give you a bar code sticker to put on your recycling bin(s), and you get points based on the amount. This isn't available for us, but you can bet if we move somewhere it is, we'll be doing it.

  • 2 Aussie products: 2/$5.97, get $2ECBs (limit 1). Used B1G1 (RP 3/13/11) and $1/1 (P&G mailer) = paid $1.99/2, got $2ECBs!

  • Used $15.68 in ECBs from previous trips.
  • Paid $3.08, got $16.99ECBs!

I debated not going to Walgreens, but the diapers were on sale again, so I decided to stop.
  • 2 W Diapers Jumbo Packs: B1G1 free $8.99. Used $2/1 (Walgreens Infant Care booklet - took off $4) = paid $4.99/2 packs!
  • 7 Pepsi brand 2-liters: $1 each. Used seven $0.55/1 (SS 3/6/11) = paid $0.45 each!
  • 4 Right Guard Deoderants: B1G1 free $4.49. Used one B1G1 free (RP 3/13/11) = paid $4.49/4. My Walgreens won't allow you to just use a B1G1 coupon on 2 products when they're on sale like this, so you have to actually purchase at least one. Buy one get one deals aren't explicitly outlined in the coupon policy, so it's up to your store if they will.
  • Used $5RR from last time.
  • Paid $8.81. I'm definitely liking CVS more and more with each week...

A Few of My Walmart Deals

I really like Walmart's new coupon policy, which includes the fact that you can now keep the overages from coupons and apply them to your transaction as long as you have something else to take that amount off of. So I picked up some freebies, and while the overages weren't a lot, they were pennies that I was able to save off the rest of my groceries. Not everything is pictured - just the deals.
  • 2 Kotex Liners: $0.94 each. Used two $1/1 (came with samples in mail) = free + $0.06 overage each!
  • White Cloud Toilet Paper (4 pack): $2. Used $1/1 (All You) = $1.
  • 4 Gain Dryer Sheets (80 count): $3.26 each. Used four $3/1 (RP 2/13/11) = $0.26 each. I was hoping for 40 counts, which are only $1.87 (and would have given me overages), but they didn't have any.
  • 2 Gain Dish Soaps: $0.97 each. Used two $1/1 (P&G mailer) = free + $0.03 overage each!
  • 6 Pert Plus 2-in-1 travel size: $0.97 each. Used six $1/1 (SS 2/27/11) = free + $0.03 overage each!
  • 5 Sensodyne travel size: $0.98 each. Used five $1/1 (RP 1/2/11) = free + $0.02 overage each!

So, I got $0.46 off of the rest of my groceries, plus taking home the items for free. I'm sure there will be some coupons that will result in bigger overages.

CVS and Walgreens Shopping

First up was CVS. There weren't a ton of deals I wanted this week, but I figured I would use some of my ECBs from last week to get some Easter candy (and I still have some left over to spend next week!).
  • Revlon Nail Polish: $3.99, get $3ECBs. Used $1/1 (SS 2/13/11) = paid $2.99, got $3ECBs!
  • Kellogg's Frosted Flakes cup: $1. Used $1/1 (magic coupon box) = free!
  • Candy Deal: Buy $10+ of Easter candy, get $3ECBs.
    3 Whoppers Eggs: $2 each. Used $1/3 (SS 2/27/11).
1 Dove Chocolate Bunny: $3. Used $1/1 (magic coupon box).
    2 White Palmer Bunnies: 2/$1.
Paid $8, got $3ECBs. Not bad for some yummy candy.
  • Used $10ECB from last time. Paid $2.02, got $7ECBs! (got $1ECB for my 4th time using a reusable bag)

Next was Walgreens. Again, not a ton of deals, but still a few.
  • 2 Pampers Jumbo Packs: 2/$20, get $3RR when you buy 2. Used two $2/1 (P&G 2/27/11) and $2/1 (Walgreens Infant booklet - took off $4) = paid $12/2, got $3RR.
  • Always Pads: $2.99, get $2RR. Used $2/1 (P&G mailer) = paid $0.99, got $2RR.
  • 2 Pedia Care Infant Drops: $6.29 each. Used $5/1 (ad coupon, took off $10) and $3/2 printable = free plus $0.42 overage.
  • 2 Geisha mushrooms: 2/$1 (ad coupon).
  • Used $2RR from last time. Paid $11.57, got $5RR!

So, between both stores, I spent $13.59, and I have $12 for next time. I'd say that's pretty good, wouldn't you?

Soft Scrub Total Review and GIVEAWAY

As a Soft Scrub Captain, I occasionally get new products to try out. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect from Soft Scrub Total All-Purpose Cleaner, the newest in their line of Total cleaners (they also have bathroom and kitchen). I normally use dish soap and water for most of my all purpose cleaning, but I'm always willing to try something new.
Did it get things clean? Yes. Shiny and squeaky clean. Unfortunately, this product has a fairly strong bleach-y smell, which I am definitely not a fan of. So, I think I'll stick with my soap and water.
Now it's your turn. 5 winners will each receive 2 coupons for a free Soft Scrub Total product (this could be any of the Soft Scrub Total products, not just the All-Purpose Cleaner).
To enter, leave me a comment answering this question: Do you use all-purpose cleaner? Or do you use something else (like soap and water for me)?
You have until Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:59PM CST to enter.
Disclosure: As a Soft Scrub Captain, I was given a free bottle of Soft Scrub Total All-Purpose Cleaner and coupons for this giveaway. All opinions expressed are my own.

CVS and Walgreens Deals

First up was CVS - a moneymaking trip! Gotta love those...
  • Kashi GoLean Crunch Cereal and TLC Bars: 2/$6, get $2ECBs when you buy 2. Used two $2/1 Kashi product printables (Recyclebank) = paid $2/2, got $2ECBs!
  • 2 Crest 3D White Toothpastes: $3.29, get $3.29ECBs (limit 2). Used two $1/1 (P&G 2/27/11) = paid $4.58, got $6.58ECBs!
  • 4 Excedrins (2 of them came with bonus packages on top): $5.79, $4.99, $4.69, and $4.69. Get $10ECBs when you buy $20+. Used 2 free products coupons (Facebook promo no longer available) and two $0.75/1 (SS 2/27/11). The two free coupons took off $5.99 each (the maximum value listed)! Paid $6.68/4, got $10ECBs!
  • Chef Boyardee Ravioli: B1G1 free $1.57. Attempted to use my free product coupon from Walmart promo (no longer available), but realized when I got home that it didn't scan properly. But I got the overages from the Excedrin coupons, so I guess it evens out. Paid $1.57/2.
  • Used $11ECBs from last time.
  • Total spent: $4.20. Got $18.58ECBs!

I also got the $1/1 CVS hair care coupon from the magic coupon box, but I didn't see any worth buying - they were all at least $3 or $4. Did I miss the cheap $0.99 ones somewhere?

Next was Walgreens. I was hoping they would have some Motrin PM left - it was on sale for $3, get $3RR. I have several of the $6/2 coupons (SS 1/9/11), so I was going to be making some money off of those. They were all gone though. Oh well. There wasn't much else I was going for this week, but I figured since I was already there, I may as well grab a couple things.
  • Huggies Jumbo Pack: $8.99, get $2RR. Used $2/1 (SS 2/27/11) = paid $6.99, got $2RR.
  • Lindsay Olives: $0.99 (ad coupon). Used $0.55/1 (came in mail from e-mailing company) = paid $0.44.
  • 2 Skittles and 2 Starbursts: 2/$1. Used two $0.50/2 printables (no longer available) = paid $1/4.
  • Total spent: $8.58. Got $2RR.

How's Your Stockpile?

I've been working on organizing our stockpile of food to see what we have extras of and what we should try to use up. Stuffing and oatmeal? Check. Most of the rest of this cabinet is baking supplies, spices, and things we use regularly, like canned fruit and honey.

I also have two boxes worth of extra toiletries and household things to donate. Most were freebies or money makers. Like the 10 tubes of toothpaste in this box...

...or the 4 bottles of Maalox in this one.

Hopefully someone will find those items useful. Meanwhile, I'm looking at the rest of our food, wondering if anyone has some good recipes with green beans or mustard...

If you haven't looked at your stockpile for awhile, you should! It's March! It's almost spring! See what you have and what you can try to use up. That's what we will be doing this month.
