Tuesday Tips: Get Free Movie Rentals

I rarely pay for movie rentals any more (and not just because pretty much all of our movie stores closed). There are always codes out for a free night's rental for both Redbox and Blockbuster Express kiosks.

The best site for Redbox codes is Inside Redbox. You do have to sign up (it's free), but you can then see a list of current codes, when they were most recently used, and any stipulations for them (i.e. some are only good at Walgreens).

You also have the option, when signing up for an account directly with Redbox, to receive a text message with a free code on the first Monday of every month. They will send you a text message to confirm the account, and then each month you'll get your free code. The code is valid only that day, and you can only use it once (unlike other codes, which you can use once per credit/debit card). They will send you 1-2 emails per week, with new releases and movie reviews.

For Blockbuster Express, there isn't one specific site that gathers the codes, but I've found that several of the freebie sites I follow do post them. Coupon Dad has a pretty good list here. You can use these codes once per credit/debit card as well.

Between the two of us, Jesse and I have 4 cards that we can use for each code, plus our monthly freebie. See why we never pay for movie rentals?

Huggies Enjoy the Ride Rewards: New Code!

Huggies Enjoy the Ride Rewards program gives you points for entering unique codes, which you can find on diapers and wipes packages. They also release additional codes, which everyone can enter. You can redeem your points for contest entries, or save them up for gift cards and diaper products. I'm saving up to 300 for a free Jumbo Pack!

Add BJNDJSLLMDXJPGB to your account for an additional 5 points.

Pampers Gifts to Grow: New Code!

Pampers has a rewards program where you enter codes, which can then be redeemed for free things. Codes are found in packages of diapers and wipes, but they also regularly release free codes, especially on Facebook. You can enter them into your account (or sign up) here. Even if you don't have a little one in diapers, you can still save up the codes for things like Shutterfly photo prints or gift cards.
Here are some current codes, including the newest one released today:
  • HangOn2Summer20 = 20 points
  • CAREFORNEWBORNS = 10 points
  • GTGCOUPONPOINTS = 10 points
  • GTG5FREEPTS0810 = 5 points (exp. 9/10)
  • AUG2010FACEBOOK = 10 points
  • GTGTENMONTHCODE = 10 points
  • GTGFIVEMONTHS10 = 10 points
  • GTGGETREADYSOON = 10 points
  • WELCOME2PAMPERS = 10 points
  • GTGPLAY3USA2010 = 30 points
  • 25GTGSUMMER2010 = 25 points
  • 15GTGSUMMERFUN = 15 points
  • WELCOME2VILLAGE = 10 points
  • XKCMYXFVD96VXVK = 10 points
  • THRIFTYMOMMYGTG = 10 points
  • OHAMANDAAWGTG08 = 10 points
  • GTGLEARNMORE089 = 10 points
  • GETSTARTEDNOW10 = 10 points
  • GTGSUMMERFUN5PT = 5 points

I am not sure of the expiration dates on most of these (except where indicated). They should get you off to a good start!

Tuesday Tips: Google Reader

Each Tuesday, I'm going to post a tip. They will vary greatly, but these are things I've found helpful in my own life that save time, money, or sanity (or all of the above!).
This week's Tuesday Tip is Google Reader. I don't know about you, but I read a lot of blogs. It takes quite a bit of time to go find each one, see if there's anything new, and read through it to make sure I didn't miss anything.
Now I use Google Reader. At this point I have 33 different sites linked up. Anything new since the last time I logged in is pulled to the top and bolded. I can flick through and either read anything interesting, or mark it with a star to save for later. Then I mark everything as read, know that I am up to date, and move on.
I have my sites categorized into "Deals and Coupons", "Family and Friends", and "Fun to Read". I can pick one or all of these categories to focus on.
For anyone interested, here are some of the sites I've found interesting and/or helpful:

You can do 5 different ones, or just pick one and enter it 5 times. If you did the three I posted yesterday, just pick one and do it twice more.

Also, enter TakeSmallSteps and put Marcal in the Points Partner box for another 15 points.

I redeemed some of my points for a $1.50/1 Huggies wipes coupon and a B1G1 free Seventh Generation Cleaner. What are you using yours for?

Update: RecycleBank

RecycleBank believes in rewarding people for recycling. They give you a bar code to put on your recycling bin, and record how much (by weight) you recycle. You get points based on the amount. Those points can then be redeemed for high value coupons, or gift cards, if you really save them up.
Unfortunately, this is not available in all areas just yet (see the FAQs here to find out if it's available near you), but...they also offer points for various actions on their site, as well as for codes that are periodically posted. So, even if it's not available for you, it's still worth signing up.
Use the code FORTHEMOMMAS15 to get 15 points. Choose RecycleBank Insiders as the Points Partner. Thanks For the Mommas!
Use the code ORGANICDEALS15 to get 15 points. Choose RecycleBank Insiders as the Points Partner. Thanks Organic Deals!
Update: Use the code DEALSEEKINGM215 to get 15 points. Choose RecycleBank Insiders as the Points Partner. Thanks Deal Seeking Mom!
Get 50 points for signing up to be part of the eBay Green Team.
That's 120 points just for signing up and entering codes! You should be able to find a good coupon for those.

Photo Deals!

Walgreens is running 7 days of deals again! Yesterday was a free 8x10 (sorry for not posting, but things were pretty busy around here with Jesse preaching and me working), and today is 75% off of 5x7 easel art. Not as exciting for me, but maybe for you?

Snapfish has a promo going on to get a free 8x10 photo collage with free shipping. Use promo code GRANDSHIP. This is good through 8/17/10. I should note that when I did this, it took $1.80 off of $2.99, and gave me free shipping. So $1.19 for a photo collage isn't bad. It also gave me free shipping and a discount on a flip book that I ordered, so it might be worth it for that if you have other things to order. Thanks Money Saving Mom!

On Thursday, RitzPics will be doing five 8x10s for free (just pay $2.99 shipping and handling). There are limited hours for this, but it's definitely a good deal if you had some larger prints to get. You can find out more about that here. Thanks My Frugal Adventures!
