20 Days of Homemade Christmas Ornaments: Retro Toilet Paper Tube Ornaments

I thought these looked pretty cool in the picture, and I recommend painting your toilet paper tubes before you start for a more finished look, but you definitely don't have to.

  • 2-3 toilet paper tubes
  • 3 pipe cleaners
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Ribbon to hang

Measure sections of toilet paper tube that are 3/4" wide. Flatten and cut. You will need 10.

Plot two dots, 3/4" from each end. Punch out with hole punch.

Thread one pipe cleaner through one hole on each tube section. Twist the ends together to secure and spread the toilet paper tube sections out evenly. Twist your other two pipe cleaners together and thread through the second holes on each section. Twist the ends together to secure. You may need to trim a little bit off.

See? It's okay, but I think it would be prettier if it were painted. Either way, tie a ribbon on and hang it on your tree. I found this ornament idea at Family Fun.
