Walmart Trip

We decided to get a few more things for Thanksgiving groceries on Wednesday, so I grabbed a few deals as well. I didn't take a picture, since I went after work (11pm) and I just put things away quickly when I got home. Some highlights:
  • 2 20-oz. Diet Cokes and 2 20-oz. Sprites: $1.38 each (used 4 free 20-oz. coupons from MyCokeRewards)
  • Fisher pecans: $5.48 (used $1/1 from Sunday inserts)
  • 2 8-oz. blocks Kraft cheese: $1.98 each (used $1/2 Kraft cheese from Sunday inserts)
  • YoPlus yogurt 4-pack: $2.00 (used free YoPlus coupon from Activia rebate a couple months ago)
  • 2 Philadelphia cream cheese blocks: $1.18 each (used printable 55 cents/2)
  • Millstone coffee: $6.98 (used $1/1 coupon in display by coffee, and picked up several more since they don't expire until the end of April! and it's my favorite coffee)
  • Edge shave gel: $2.97 (used free coupon from magazine ad, I think Men's Health)
  • 2 Glade 4-oz. candles: $2.25 each (used $3/2 from Sunday inserts)
  • 1 Pledge lemon dusting spray: $3.98 (used $1/1 printable)
  • I was going to do this SC Johnson rebate for the candles and Pledge, which would have made them free, but I wasn't paying attention and threw away the labels for the candles before I got the UPC codes off of them, so I'll have to save it for next time. The $5 rebate (which you can do 3 times per household) is good through next July, so I have time.
  • Total spent: $27.49. Total saved: $18.04

Grocery Shopping

Jonah cooperated enough for me to get to Walgreens and Walmart today for the deals and regular groceries.

Walgreens: I did 2 transactions to take advantage of the Register Rewards (I like to use them right away if I can because I'm never sure if I'll get back before they expire otherwise).
  • 1st transaction: Herbal Essences were on sale 2/$7. I had a free product coupon from becoming a fan on Facebook, which also came with a $1/1 coupon. So, I paid $2.50 for a shampoo and conditioner, and got $2 in Register Rewards. Everything else is from the 2nd transaction.
  • Hefty 1-zip bags: B1G1 free, and I had a $1 coupon. Also, each had a 20 cent peelie coupon on it, and my cashier pushed both through, even though there was an extra one. I wasn't going to argue. I paid $1.89 for 2.
  • Geisha mushrooms: on sale 2/$1 with ad coupon
  • Hunts tomato sauce: on sale 3/$1 with ad coupon - I would have gotten these for free with two ConAgra printables from their recession game, but I didn't realize when I printed and clipped them that the only place the amount was listed was in the big gaudy part I cut off of the top, so they wouldn't accept them. It's still the price I normally pay for tomato sauce, so no big loss there.
  • Total spent: $7.15. Total saved: $17.57

At Walmart I picked up a bunch of basics. Here are some of the highlights:

  • 3 Nature Valley Nut Clusters: $2.78 each (used 3 $1.60/1 coupons from Pssst mailer) - paid 98 cents each
  • 2 Yoplait Fiber One Yogurt: $2 each (used 2 $1/1 printable coupons) - paid $1 each
  • 2 Old El Paso taco seasoning: 86 cents each (used $1/2 printable coupon) - paid 36 cents each
  • 2 Old El Paso enchilada sauce: $1.14 each (used $1/2 printable coupon) - paid 64 cents each
  • 2 Great Valu cheese (1 lb. bags): $3.68 each (used $1.50/2 lbs. of cheese printable coupon) - paid $2.93 each
  • 4 Carnation evaporated milk: 78 cents each (used two 50 cents/2 printable coupons) - paid 53 cents each
  • 3 Swanson chicken broth: on sale for 45 cents each from 86 cents each
  • Success rice: $1.84 (used $1/1 printable coupon) - paid $1
  • Pace salsa: $6.13 (used $4/1 coupon from Pace online contest win) - paid $2.13
  • 3 Sara Lee deli meat: $3.98 each (used three $3/1 printable coupons) - paid 98 cents each
  • Total spent: 44.15. Total saved: $25.30.

Catching Up...

Who would have thought all of my time would go out the window once Jonah was born? (Okay, I kind of figured it would...)

Here's what I saved in the past week or so:

Old Navy
They were having a big clearance sale on women's clothing to make room for winter styles, so I grabbed a bunch of shirts for very cheap, as well as a sweatshirt for Jesse for his birthday, which was on sale.
  • 1 shirt, $17.50 down to $1.99 = savings of $15.51
  • 2 shirts, $15.00 down to $1.49 = savings of $27.02
  • 2 shirts, $14.50 down to $1.49 = savings of $26.02
  • 1 sweatshirt, $39.50 down to $30 = savings of $9.50

All told, I paid $37.98 and saved $78.05 on these clothes.

Walgreens
I was waiting for a prescription, and paging through their ad. I realized they had Carefree liners on sale for 99 cents, and I had two $1 off coupons, so I got 2 packages for free, saving $3.18. I also bought a bottled water. One of the two products triggered a printed receipt coupon for a $19.99 oil change at Midas, including complimentary tire rotation, fluid check, and a few other things I'm forgetting right now, but a really good deal for $19.99, especially since we're overdue for an oil change.
